Henry brings up some highly valuable points, including thinking about what will capture and hold your reader's attention, creating an excellent system for documenting your drafts, starting with a WIP, work in progress, or outline of the manuscript you are writing, and, taking breaks from time to time to give your writing levity and perspective. •••••••••••••••••••••

The interesting thing is that when you go back on the original drafts, you have written right from the beginning and compare them to what you are writing now – it helps you understand how your style is developing. You get to read your own work and realise what works and what doesn't work. It is one of the only professions that require such continuous, diligent and soul-searching introspection. It's well worth it, that I can assure you!” About the Host. After four years of writing his soon-to-be-published memoir, The Stories I Told My Son ™️, Henry Weinreich shares his personal experiences on the road to authorship. Henry highlights practical tips during every episode encouraging those beginning or continuing their writing. •••••••••••••••••••••

In this episode, writer Henry Weinreich shares his best tips on how to get over writer’s block. After four years of authoring his father’s memoirs, The Stories I Told my Son™️, Henry discusses his own experiences. Henry points out that according to the  American Psychological Association (APA), many psychologists don’t even believe writer’s block exists. Psychologist Steven Pritzker told the APA that it’s “an artificial construct that justifies a discipline problem.”

“ I disagree with the APA. It took me time to identify writing stumbling blocks. There were times that I thought I could not move forward. It hammers away at your confidence. It is all part of an initiation of rights. Like any professional project we undertake, I believe that when you walk away and return to it, it helps a great deal. The key is to identify the patterns that occur when you are working on professional projects. What is your sweet - spot of productivity? Once you have that identified, it helps to work within your ebb and flow of creativity.”

“There will be long periods of time when you have to cut off from everything, including interacting with most of your friends. The truth of the matter is that those that understand support you. Not everybody needs to understand and that is ok too! When you resurface, there will be plenty of opportunities to re-plug into Social Media and various forms of interaction. That is also to say you must always be in contact with a few key people, so they know all is well, and you are simply delving into your work deeply.” About the Host. “I do not believe there is any other profession that provides such an extraordinary opportunity regardless of age, gender, color or sexuality. It is completely embracing. When you think of famous authors such as J.R.R Tolkien, who published The Hobbit at the age of 40, or J.K. Rowling who was 45 when she sealed the contract for The Harry Potter series, publishing your book from a dream to reality is in your grasp.” Henry says. “The beautiful thing about writing is that it gives us the opportunity to speak from the soul. To really express our own unique point of view. To write about things we are deeply passionate about. Once we have faced the fear of being judged by others with what we are about to write, all the rest of the skills are acquired.” Having that being said, Henry continues to highlight the qualities of endurance, patience and the goal of publishing your written work.. “ otherwise no one will ever get to read what you have to say.” An uplifting episode that points of what needs to be considered to start their dream of becoming an author.
